AVH Genetics
The dominant genes are represented by a capital letter, while the recessive (non-dominant genes) are represented by lower-case letters.
The current genes in the game are:
B b
BB or Bb makes a black horse black, while bb makes a chestnut
A+ AA AT a (bay)
AT = seal brown, A = bay, A+ = wild bay
This gene is known as “agouti” and is designed to tell black coloring where to go on the body, resulting in a bay horse with black points.
W w (white)
If the horse carries the W gene, the horse will be white, regardless of the other genes.
G g (grey)
A horse carrying a G gene will be gray, regardless of the other genes (except W)
CR cr (cream dilution).
This gene influences both chestnut and black horses
A cremello is a chestnut horse with 2 cream genes
A palomino is a chestnut horse with 1 cream gene
A perlino is a bay horse with 2 cream genes
A buckskin is a bay horse with 1 cream gene
A smoky cream is a black horse with 2 cream genes
A smoky black is a black horse with 1 cream gene.
A seal brown cream is a bay horse with ATAT or Ata genes and 2 cream genes
A diluted seal brown is a bay horse with ATAT or Ata genes and 1 cream gene
In order to breed the color horse you want, the parents will require specific color genes. For example, if you want to breed a wild bay horse, parents will require a black gene and an A+ gene.
