Searching the site 3rd of Februarius, year 23
You can now start to use the search feature found on the FAQ and News pages to find information you may be looking for.

As an example try typing 'game day' and checking the search option for www.avirtualhorse.com to see what information turns up.
Shows 18th of Januarius, year 23
The shows will run 4 to 5 game months after they were created (as opposed to the 1-2 months as it used to be)
This way there will be more shows to enter, there will be higher competition, and higher income for players that create the shows.
Since there will be more horses in shows, all of you should think of ways to make your horses perform better.
This is a good time for you to read the F.A.Q and learn more about Skill points, Specializing, tack and tack specializing.

Note: The game will show you which shows your horse has entered. I hope this will please many of you
Changes 24th of Novembris, year 22
There have been some changes (again) in the layout.
If your screen looks funny, just press Ctrl-F5 (once) and it should be fixed.
New games added 8th of October, year 22
Two new games were added to the games page. You can now play Reflex and test your reaction time or play a game of Phong to test your control skills. You can even earn some coins if you win on Phong.
Your own web page 17th of Martius, year 22
You can now store your web pages on AVH and they are visible from outside the game!

The address of your player's page is http://www.avirtualhorse.com/player/page/Player id here/show.html

You can create your page and give the address to your friends to visit it, even if they are not players on AVH.

Example: The Elvish Misfit's web page can be seen at: http://www.avirtualhorse.com/player/page/1214/show.html

Note: 1214 is TEM's player ID.

Go ahead - create your own customized web page and tell your friends about it. :)
Foul language 16th of Martius, year 22
Foul language is not tolerated in this game. It does not matter if it is on guild line, live chat or show names.
Those who ignore this rule will be banned from the game.
Uploading pictures 1st of Martius, year 22
AVH allows you to upload pictures to be used for your custom pages.
This does not mean that the server will store images that will be used in other games. Images that are used for other games will be replaced with an AVH banner, so do it at your own risk.
Text Layout 14th of Februarius, year 22
If you have a slow internet connection and the game pages are taking a lot to load, you can now switch the layout to text mode.
This means that instead of seeing the Stable picture, you will simply see the 'Your stable' text.
To enable text mode, go to your player's settings (Home + Settings), check the checkbox and press the Update button
Game: new layout 19th of October, year 21
As you've most likely noticed the game layout has changed.
If you experience problems such as not being able to select the Buyers' Area in the market, or the jobs at the clinic, press Ctrl-F5 once and that will probably fix it for you.
The layout will stay like this so please do not repeatedly ask to switch back.
Right now it is not possible to have 2 layouts and probably it will stay like this.
If you like the new layout, feel free to thank Kathy for the pictures and her dedication to make it look decent.
If you hate it - well, it's all my fault.
Club boards 23rd of Maius, year 21
The presidents of the clubs can now moderate the chat board of their club.
The rules are simple:
1. Report any foul language (and delete the message)
2. Do not delete the messages of a person with the intent of punishing that person.
3. Be responsible and fair to the club members. Abuse will not be tolerated.
Clubs 16th of Maius, year 21
You can suggest, again, clubs for creation.
Remember that in order for your club to get accepted, it will need support (as in votes) from other players.
Also, the clubs with not enough votes will be removed periodically.
Now this is a special day indeed 18th of Aprilis, year 21
Everyone should take the time to wish Gatekeeper a very Happy Birthday! Don't forget to sing as well. Smiley

Happy Birthday, Gatekeeper, and wishing you many more.

New spec for equilibriums 15th of Martius, year 21
Due to their nature, equilibrium players have always been forced to adapt, finding ways to survive in a world that has been hostile. They are not great manufacturers and they are not even amazing riders, but they have always been good in finding the best opportunities to save some money.
Recently they have learned that there is a way to spend less coins for creating and entering shows.
As a result the equilibrium players have a new specialization; the savings spec.
When equilibriums enter their horses in shows, there is a small chance that they learn how to save money for that show type and their spec/skill will increase.
The higher their spec is, the higher the discount for entering and creating shows (of that type) is.

Example:
Creating a dressage show with a prize of 100 coins:

Manufacturers will pay 100 coins
Riders will pay 75 coins (riders get a 25% discount)
Equilibriums will pay 90 coins (due to the 10% discount) if they do not have the saving spec for dressage shows.

If an equilibrium has a 50% savings spec for the dressage show he/she will have to pay only 56 coins (instead of 100)
If the spec is at 80% the equilibrium will pay only 36 coins.
Finally, when the spec is at 100%, the equilibrium will pay only a quarter of the price. In this case it would be 22 coins.

So for an equilibrium there are 2 discounts: First the 10% discount, and then the spec discount.
100 coins => 90 coins (thanks to the guild discount)
90 coins => 22 coins (roughly a quarter of 90)

Same formula applies for entering shows.
Starving horses 19th of December, year 20
The market took several thousand starving horses from their neglectful owners.
You can buy them for 850 coins at the market!
Clubs 4th of December, year 20
The presidents can upload a logo for their club as well as a HTML page.
If you are not confident on your HTML skills, add only text descriptions.
Second issue of "Homo Equitabilis" has been released! 1st of December, year 20
The moment you were waiting for smiley

Mod suspension 17th of October, year 20
One of the game moderators has been suspended for 2 weeks, for improper conduct.

Tack and horses 19th of September, year 20
Only the best 20 items of each tack type will be displayed in your stable.
This means that if for some reason you have 200 bridles, you will see only the best 20.

Keeping 1000 items in your workshop does not make much sense, so I'd advise you to sell it at the market.
Disabling tack drag & drop 20th of Augustus, year 20
If for some reason you cannot put tack on your horse using the new feature, you can disable it by going to your Player Settings and unchecking the Drag Tack checkbox.
Once you uncheck that box (and click the update button) you will see the horse inventory in the old-fashioned way.
Horse Inventory 18th of Augustus, year 20
The stable has evolved and you can put on/remove tack from your horse by dragging it in the squares.
Clicking on tack will also display the information about that item.

Note for Firefox users: If Firefox crashes when you select your horse from the stable, you will have to upgrade it to the latest version (from www.mozilla.com)
There seems to be a bug in older versions of Firefox, since browsers should not crash because of a web page.
