AVH Game and Chat Rules
The AVH chat is extremely active most of the time. It is heavily moderated by both an automated censor and adults that spend time to make sure the game is enjoyable for everyone. The following rules are for both the chat and the rest of the game. They are in place for the safety and enjoyment of everyone. You do not have to like them but you do have to follow them or your privileges to talk or play the game can and will be revoked.
- Do not create more than one account.
Players are allowed one account only. If you are found to have created another account the secondary account will be blocked and your primary account may be banned as well.
- Do not scam or attempt to scam other players.
Stealing coins, horses, tack or anything else from other players by being untruthful or by any other means is strictly against AVH rules.
This game is based around its friendly atmosphere and such behaviour will not be tolerated. Scamming involving AVH credits will get you banned from the game.
- Do not use inappropriate names for anything in the game.
Player names with inappropriate content (including references to looks and personal information) will be changed. Inappropriate names are likely to get you banned, depending on the severity. Use common sense to determine what is appropriate and what is not. If you wonder if would be suitable it is probably safer to use a different name.
- Do not post any inappropriate content.
Images that are inappropriate for a children's game should not be displayed on the site.
If such images are displayed the picture will be removed and the player will be banned.
Using the forum, chat, or any other features of the game to post inappropriate content such as text or images results in being banned from the game.
- No sharing or requesting of personal information.
Asking for personal information such as name, phone number, age, location, school etc is strictly forbidden and results in being banned from the game.
- Do not use scripts.
The use of programs to automatically enter shows, make tack or or any other scripting program is strictly forbidden. Players doing this will be banned from the game.
- Be polite to everyone.
AVH is a friendly environment for everyone. Be polite to others or you may end up muted and unable to talk on the chat. Be patient and courteous with others. If someone is rude do not become rude back. Let the moderators handle the rude individual.
- Do not exchange personal information of any kind.
For the safety of everyone on the game, you are not allowed to ask for or give out any personal information. Do not ask for age, gender, specific locations, school names or real life stable names, real names, personal contact information, phone numbers, emails, social website pages or anything else that would have personal information.
- Do not use inappropriate language.
Inappropriate language on any part of the site will get you muted and most likely banned from the game for a set period of time. Repeat offenders will be banned from the site permanently.
- Do not discuss issues not suitable for all ages.
When on the guild line, remember that people of any age may see what you are writing. Please try to keep the content at an appropriate level so as not to offend or confuse younger players.
- Do not discuss sensitive topics that start arguments.
Religious beliefs, political believes, causes, petitions and any other highly debateable topics do not belong on the website. Keep your beliefs and causes to yourself and or places set up to support and debate such things not on AVH. Inflammatory names or content on such topics will be changed and or deleted. If you are warned not to continue to discuss such things on the site and do so anyway, you will be banned from the site for a set amount of time.
- Do not use the site as a dating service.
Boyfriend/Girlfriend talk or requests for dates should be kept off the website and the chat. AVH is NOT a dating service. Do not ask for gender or if there are any boys or girls on chat. You do not need to know this information to visit with others and play the game. If you continue to 'hunt' for dates or it becomes apparent you are doing that you will be removed from the chat and/or the game.
- Do not spam or flood the chat.
Spamming the chat or flooding the chat with gibberish, repetitive and or useless content will get you muted or banned from the chat altogether.
- Keep your advertisements for horses on the trade line.
Do not use the chat line or the beginner line to advertise horses, tack, services or anything else. The trade line is there for you to use just for these purposes. People looking for partners, horses and anything else will know to look at this line to find them.
- Do not flood your advertisements for sale horses.
A good rule of thumb is to send your ads for horses or tack or whatever you are selling about once every 10 mins. If you constantly repeat the same ad the automatic censor will likely ban your for a while for spamming. Moderators will mute if requests to stop flooding advertisements are ignored.
- Do not use any language other than english on the chat.
Currently the game is not equipped for multi-lingual use on the chat line. If you wish to use the chat and your english is limited, use an online translator to assist you. If this is not an option for you then enjoy the game without using the chat line. The moderators will make every attempt to let players just joining know the chat is english only.
- Do not advertise other outside sites and links.
Advertising other sites on the game is rude and disrespectful. Games and companies who pay for advertising already appear in the ads. Do not use this game or it's chat to try to advertise or plug other sites. Unsuitable sites are blocked and commonly spammed site links are changed or blocked when they are attempted to be typed on the chat. If you try to type the blocked site in other formats the automatic censor will ban you from the chat.
- Do not roleplay on the chat.
- Do not poll on the chat.
- Do not auction on the chat.
There is a place in the market for credit and horse auctions. Do not use the chat for such things.
- Do not use all caps or caps excessively.
It is considered shouting and rude to use all caps on a chat. Normal text can be read just fine there is no need for all caps.
- Do not use 'sticky caps' or alternating capped letters.
Sticky caps and alternating caps are extremely hard to read in an active chat format. Do not use them.
- Do not direct or try to moderate others on what to do.
Let the moderators handled everything. You may think you are helping when you try to direct others but in fact you are creating more of a disturbance on the chat. Feel free answer game questions from new players (that is a big help) but do not tell others what to do or not to do. The moderators can deal with any situation necessary. If there is not one readily visible on chat send them a letter reporting what you need to. There is usually one close by even if you don't see them on the chat. If you repeatedly boss others around and become a problem yourself in doing so you will likely be muted.
- Make every effort to spell words correctly so that others can understand you.
Chatspeak, alt codes and other symbolic characters make chat posting very hard for everyone to understand. Use common english spelling on the chat.
- Feel free to answer game questions if you see them asked and know the answer.
This is in fact very helpful and anyone who knows the answer to a game question can answer. The common questions are coming from beginners on the beginner chat (indicated by a blue (b) in front of their name.
- Listen to the moderators
If you are asked to stop doing something or a moderator is trying to help you understand that you are breaking a rule of the game. Do not argue or continue to do it. You will simply be muted and unable to chat. The moderators are not trying to give you a hard time but rather keep the chat flowing smoothly and trouble free for everyone playing. They have many posts and things to keep track of and do not have time to argue with you over your thoughts on the rules. You've agreed to follow them so you will simply be muted if you continue to disregard requests or reminders to stop something.
